Assistance By Khmer Brewery Limited To Flood Victims In Banteay Meanchey Province

Serey Sorphoan city, 28th of September, 2012

On the 28th of September, 2012, Khmer Brewery Limited assisted 300 families, victims of the floods that recently affected the province of Banteay Meanchey.  The event, which took place in the provincial capital of Serey Soprhoan, was presided by HE Oung Euang, provincial governor and honorary president of Cambodia’s Red Cross for the province of Banteay Meanchey.  Lok Jum Tieuv Phiep Heak, chairlady of Khmer Brewery Limited, makers of Cambodia Beer, co-hosted the event.

Khmer Brewery Limited, in cooperation with the Cambodian Red Cross, provided direct assistance in order to mitigate the urgent needs and difficulties being faced by families affected by the floods.  Each family was given 25 kilograms of unhusked rice, 1 box of instant noodles, 2 bottles of Healthy Chef palm oil, 2 cans of Mali condensed milk, 1 kilogram of salt, 1 kilogram of sugar, 20,000 riels, and a “I Love Cambodia Beer T-shirt”.  The total value of the assistance was US$12,000.

It is worth reminding that Khmer Brewery Limited, an investment performed in its entirety by national investors, is constantly involved in helping our society.  This assistance is achieved through cooperating with the Royal Government of Cambodia, the Cambodian Red Cross (lead by Lok Jum Tieuv Bun Rany Hun SEn), Konthea Bopha Hospital, and others.

Furthermore, KHB is providing a large number of scholarships to students from needy backgrounds who wish to continue their studies at high school and / or university level.
